Our Philosophy of Care
There’s an old expression that says, “when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail!” Often the same can be said about healthcare. Many practitioners will treat a patient using a one-size-fits-all model of health, assuming that their technique or specialized skill is the best technique and the only one that will help heal a patient. And when some patients fail to find healing with that technique, the provider may blame the patient for lack of compliance or for exaggerating their ailment.
Two patients may have identical symptoms with vastly different underlying causes. At Wellness Revolution Health Center you realize that health (and your health history) is as individual as you are. Your treatment plan should reflect your individual uniqueness. There are no “one size fits all” plans at Wellness Revolution Health Center. Because they strive to help support the whole person and recognize that there are many reasons why a person may experience symptoms. Those reasons are called “interferences”, because they interfere with your body’s natural inclination to be comfortable, healthy, and pain-free.
There are six primary interferences to health. Those interferences are: structural, nutritional, emotional, toxicity, allergies/sensitivities, and electro-magnetic pollution. Structural interferences are the classic interference that brings people into chiropractic clinics. A structural interference refers to an imbalance in the body’s nervous system, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, or fascia. Nutritional interferences may include poor diet and lifestyle, malnutrition (more common than you would think!), or a need for targeted nutrients to correct underlying chemical imbalances in the body. Emotional imbalances can also be called “stress”, and may have serious and even life-threatening impacts on the overall health of the system. Toxic imbalances may result from exposure to toxic substances, or from incomplete, sluggish, or faulty detoxification by the body’s detox organs (such as the kidneys and liver), and can cause many numerous symptoms and conditions. Allergies and sensitivities are common problems, and may cause serious and unexpected symptoms such as mood disorders, joint swelling, digestive troubles, and many other problems not often associated with more traditional understandings of allergies. And, given that our brains and nervous systems are electrical systems by nature, electromagnetic interferences from appliances, microwaves, cell phones, computers, power lines and more may have unexpected and harmful consequences as well.
Once the appropriate interferences are identified, it is possible to help restore balance. An emotional interference cannot be corrected by a structural approach. Nor can a structural interference be corrected by a nutritional approach. Only through correct identification and balancing, can real healing and lasting results occur.
